Employee Rewards in Japan |
|
| |
Freeman and Weitzman uncover how employee rewards are handled in Japan. In so doing, they reveal one of the great strengths of Japanese companies - their egalitarian environments (at least for male employees). Japanese managers understand that in order to maximize the contributions of each and every employee, every employee must feel personally significant and appreciated. To this end, a number of different ways of rewarding employees are used, and unlike in the West, promotions are not one of them.
